The Socialist Scientists of Pasadena are a group of student and post-doctoral researchers who rent in Pasadena. SSOP recognizes the importance of engaging with the community we live in, participating not just through ideas but through action. We believe democracy means more than voting, it requires active participation so that all aspects of community life -- work, housing, recreation -- are decided by the many, not the few.
If you are a scientific researcher in Pasadena and would like to organize with us, please reach out to us via our email (socialistscientists@gmail.com). We would love to hear from you!
We are a member organization of the Pasadena Tenant Justice Coalition, which is a 2020 ballot measure campaign to pass an ammendment to the city's charter creating rent control and just cause for eviction protections in Pasadena.
